Suplado to the Next Level: A Review on Suplado Tips Book 2 and Book Launch

Book Launch Review

After the success of the Suplado Tips, the sequel released its sequel  held its book launch last March 2012. The book launch was also successful where it was attended by avid book lovers and fans of Stanley Chi, media and bloggers. In addition, comedians Ramon Bautista and  Tado Jimenez, rappers Harlem T., Sheyhee, and Juan Lazy, band Bakeshop and mentalist Justin Pinon are also in the book launch as special guests. It was an entertaining show where Justin performed mind reading tricks, Bakeshop launched their career as a band with their singles and  some icebreakers and prizes to the fans of Suplado Tips.

The highlight of the show is the suplado rap battle of fliptop artists Juan Lazy, Harlem T. and Sheyhee against Stanley, Ramon and Tado which made the book launch livelier and funny.

In the end, I learned about the importance of books as an important reference although people are using E-Books and only few are reading conventional books. Lastly, learn to patronize our own products and masterpiece because according to Kit Perez, "Basta Gawang Pinoy, ASTIG!"

Bookworm Review: Suplado Tips 2

The sequel of Suplado Tips is raised to another level of entertainment, humor and content. In the first book, the cover is simple with a wooden brown color and it is made up of gray paper for its pages. The second book has a smoother pages and cover with blue color. The content is not just more on Suplado tips and hirit but they have an additional supplements such as trivia, sarcastic subtitles, picture comics, stories or anecdotes, and illustrations from comic artists. The foreword was written by Ramon Bautista and there is a Suplado slam note in the first part of the book. The Suplado Tips are divided based on categories including daily life, watching basketball game, holidays, workplace and surfing the Internet.

Here are the top 5 notable suplado tips in book 2 plus its supplements:

1. On class reunions and talking about their former classmates and friends who didn't attend the reunion which is a topic among people who are present in the event: Isnabin ang invitations ng class reunion para mas lalong maintriga ang mga classmates mo at pag-usapan ka pa lalo (Kung sino ang wala, siya ang madalas na pinag-uusapan)

2. On dealing with easy-go-lucky people who inviting their friend who is not planning to go on gimmicks: Kung panay ang yaya sayo ng kaibigan mo sa mga gimik at wala ka namang balak pumunta, sagutin mo ng "Busy akong tao dahil may ginagawa ako para sa kinabukasan ko!" (Nakakasira ng barkada ang pag-aaral)

3. On having a hard time on using the new stuff in Facebook: Kung madaming nagrereklamo sa bagong Facebook, hiritan mo ng "Bumalik ka na lang kaya sa Friendster!"

4. On dealing with officemates who are fond of criticizing others and making gossips: Kung may naninira sayo sa office, okay lang yan... Ibig sabihin, parati ka niyang iniisip!

Blogger's Note: The sequel of Suplado Tips proves that Stanley Chi is one of the best humor writers in Pinoy literature nowadays. He is also shown his candor in observational comedy as well with delivering sarcastic jokes to those peculiar situations which is annoying to others. Therefore, he also advocates the use of conventional books than E-books because how did you use your computers or I-pods if there is a brownout or if there is no source of electricity. It is better to use books because it helps you to expand your vocabulary, enhance your reading skills and it is a practical and relevant source which you can keep it for many years. More power Sir Stanley!

Gala Dyournal: The 32nd Manila International Book Fair at SMX Convention Center

The 32nd Manila International Book Fair entrance.
Last September 17, 2011, the 32nd Manila International Book Fair was held at SMX Convention Center at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The book fair was participated by different publishing companies and bookstores in the Philippines, supported by SM Mall of Asia as the main venue for this event. I visited various booths in the said book fair from educational books which offers encyclopedias and discuss lessons in different school subjects for student to religious and inspirational books which help to improve our spiritual life.

PSICOM Booth
In the said book fair, right after I visited the religious and educational sections, I visited the PSICOM booth where they publish cookbooks, anime magazines, horror stories, and humor books. In the said booth, I saw the comedian Tado Jimenez with his signing of his book entitled "Ikatlo sa Huling Libro." While waiting, I bought the three Chopsticks series and Suplado Tips book for only P50.00 each with the total of P200.00. Then right after thirty minutes of waiting and visiting different booths, the Fil-Chinese cartoonist, stand up comedian, host and the author of comics strip Chopsticks and the bestselling book Suplado Tips, Stanley Chi arrived in the booth. In the book fair, I completed the three Chopsticks series and the Suplado Tips book which he signed all the four books he wrote. Although he is a suplado, he is a very nice and accommodating person.

The Chopsticks comic book collection from series 1 to 3.
Congratulations Stanley Chi for the continuous success in your writing career and you made a part in a book fair plus more power to your new show in GMANews TV called Hecklines and I hope that you win in Komikon Awards. (You got my vote!) I would like to thank Mr. Chi for signing my book and giving the gift certificate and at last I see you in person and to the two kuyas who assist and accommodate me (especially the one who take picture of Stanley and I) thanks a lot for the time and bonding.
His latest book, Suplado Tips.
The first Chopsticks series.

Suplado to the Glamorous Fame

Stanley Chi at The Medyo Late Nite Show with Jojo A. which  shows a glamorous impact of being a Suplado.

SUPLADO is the NEW SEXY. This is the tagline of the small pocketbook found in humor or entertainment section of bookstores nationwide. You can buy this book for P95 which looks like a typical pocketbook of jokes with brown cover. The title of the book is “Suplado Tips” by the Filipino-Chinese stand-up comedian, TV and radio host and the Maestro of All Suplados, Stanley Chi.

At first, I thought that Suplado Tips was a common humor book where only people who buy the book will laugh on it. But when I bought it a few months ago, the jokes written in the book are funny, candid and applicable in real life situations especially in dealing with annoying scenarios. I really love the book in terms of the candid and frank jokes. I made a review about the book on my Blogspot as well as the Facebook encounter with Mr. Suplado. The two things I mentioned show that the book made an impact in my life and it added in my list of favorite books of all time.

In addition, Suplado Tips is truly a hit among readers and lovers of humor and entertainment books. Stanley Chi made a successful book launch in National Bookstore in Mandaluyong plus various radio and TV guestings such as The Medyo Late Nite Show with Jojo A. on TV5. Then this book will make a second publishing due to it was sold out in some bookstores. Also, Stanley Chi will become an endorser of Suplado Watch this August, although he got a lower number of votes in the Facebook poll but he made it as an endorser of UniSilver Time among the popular celebrities who endorse UniSilver like Iya Villania and Sam Milby. Finally, Stanley Chi will be doing another radio hosting job through Suplado Show on Dig Radio (formerly NU107).

Definitely, I am looking forward for the sequel of Suplado Tips and it is more exciting and funnier than ever! Kudos for the glamorous success and fame of being a Suplado!

This blog made it to the 10th place of Suplado Contest held by Stanley Chi.

Bookworm Review: Suplado Tips in Daily Experiences

"Suplado Tips" is a humor book written by cartoonist, stand-up comedian and writer Stanley Chi. This small, brown book is composed of a foreword by comedian and newscaster Ramon Bautista, one hundred suplado tips, ten supladong hirit, ten suplado commandments, five suplado meter signs and a suplado quiz. Suplado Tips costs only P95.00. Although it is affordable and cheap because of paper quality, Suplado Tips is one of a kind because of the author's candor in delivering punchlines and tips in this book.

Suplado is a Tagalog word for snobbish and the tips written in this book are practical in terms of dealing with situations which irritate, annoy or pressure us. Here are the list of situations where Suplado Tips are applicable.

1. My most favorite part in this book is dealing in worst-case scenario in your workplace such as office gossips, insecure people, laziness and tardiness, and arrogance of your boss or team leader.
2. In spending our time in social networking sites such as Facebook and Yahoo and even in texting, there are situations which irritate us because of too much addiction in texting and internet surfing of a person.
3. Suplado Tips are also applicable in dating or having relationships.
4. Even in daily conversations and mingling with people around you, we cannot avoid to look on unusual and irritating people or situations
These Suplado Tips are funny and sometimes, it happens in real-life situation especially the annoying scenarios to deal with. Kudos to the book and to Mr. Stanley Chi! Therefore, after the launch of the first book, there are new sets of Suplado Tips posted in Facebook account of Mr.Chi which signals the sequel of the book. He truly deserves to have a sequel of it because if Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere has El Filibusterismo and Bob Ong's ABNKKBSANPLAko? has Bakit Baligtad Magbasa ng Libro ang mga Pilipino? and if Chopsticks has three books published,  well this is it Stanley, you have the sequel now of your bestselling book. Here are the new set of tips:

Excited to look forward to Suplado Tips 2.0!
